Lipid Lowering
Our referral criteria for Lipid Lowering is as below:
- Patients with persistent raised fasting cholesterol of >6mmol/l , LDL >3.5 mmol/l or TC/HDL ratio >4.5 who have not responded to advice from other members of the Primary Healthcare Team
- Patients with a raised fasting triglyceride level > 2.0mmol/l
- Patients with a 20% risk of CVD in 10 yrs using Framingham Risk Equation.
Information for coming to clinic
Your Dietitian will assess your medical history and discuss a personalised dietary treatment plan to help improve your cholesterol levels. Please bring a list of any medications that you are taking to your appointment . Any recent investigation results (including blood tests)/ medical letters may also be helpful
How to get referred
If you are registered with a GP in Haringey, your GP or healthcare professional must refer you. If you are registered with a GP in Islington, you can self-refer using the online form below or your GP can also refer you.
