IBS and Digestive Disorders
Priority will be given to those patients who are rapidly losing weight and/or require symptom relief from pain, diarrhoea or severe constipation.
Patients referred with Irritable bowel disease (IBS) MUST be diagnosed as per Nice Guidance. Please complete the IBS pro-forma attached with the referral and see the IBS Referral Flowchart.
Patients newly diagnosed with Coeliac Disease or Inflammatory Bowel Disease should receive their care by Consultant led hospital clinics supported by a Specialist Dietitian.
Information for coming to a clinic
Patient’s diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome or other digestive disorders are seen in outpatient clinics at our different sites. It is likely that your weight will be taken, you will be asked to complete a symptom evaluation and the dietitian will ask you in detail about your diet. Please bring a list of medications that you are currently taking. Following an assessment you may be referred into group sessions depending on your condition and which treatment you require.
