Lucy Reeves
Lucy started work as a staff nurse at the Whittington in 1981, after training at Harrogate District General Hospital and the Whittington. Since that time she has seen many progressive changes and the development of a department that offers a wider range of dermatological treatment and care.
As the Clinical Nurse Specialist, Lucy’s role involves communication with a range of levels, and with a large number of people both in and out of the hospital. She runs various nurse led clinics including in her special interests of Phototherapy, Patch Testing and Photodynamic Therapy. Lucy also carries out Surgical Wound Care, Leg Ulcer care and Drug Monitoring as well as a quarterly support group, for patients needing assistance with dermatological care.
Lucy is also proactive in the local community. Working alongside the Dermatology Consultant, she attends the Community Dermatology Clinic at the Partnership Health Centre once a week. Here, she ensures patients are seen in a safe environment as well as carrying out surgical procedures to patients on the same day. Lucy also delivers talks and workshops to school children and parents, educating children and parents about the dangers of prolonged exposure to the sun and the benefits of skin care.
