Acute Oncology & Cancer of Unknown Primary (CUP) team
The Acute Oncology Service at Whittington Health is a Clinical Nurse Specialist delivered, Consultant led service supporting the inpatient management of patients with cancer.
The Acute Oncology team works with the patient’s admitting team to manage any complications arising because of their cancer diagnosis, complications from their cancer treatments, as well as management of patients who present as an emergency with a previously undiagnosed cancer.
The Acute Oncology Service operates Monday-Friday 9-5pm. Outside of normal working hours, the on-call Oncology Registrar or Consultant at University College London Hospital provides cover.
