Newborn Hearing Screening Service

Newborn Hearing Screening Service

Main Address

The Newborn Hearing Screening Programme is a sector wide programme provided by Whittington Health offering hearing screening to all babies born across North Central London (NCL). The screening teams are based at the Whittington Hospital, Royal Free, UCLH, Barnet Hospital, and North Middlesex University Hospital.

Screening is provided seven days a week and aim to screen as many babies as inpatients prior to discharge.

Home births and any babies missed as inpatients will be offered an appointment in one of our community clinics across NCL within four weeks of birth.

Babies who are identified as requiring further diagnostic testing are referred by Newborn Hearing to the Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital for Barnet, Camden and Islington residents and St Ann’s Audiology Service for Haringey and Enfield residents.
