Dr Caroline Fertleman awarded prestigious national education award

Dr Caroline Fertleman, a leading consultant paediatrician at Whittington Health has been awarded the prestigious 2016 President's Medal from the Academy of Medical Educators.
This special media is given to an individual who has made an exceptional and sustained contribution to medical education - and is one of the highest accolades the AoME can bestow.
Caroline was given this award in recognition of her ongoing work supporting a range of individuals, from school leavers through to senior colleagues as well her work in developing the UK's first and only iBSc programme in Paediatrics and Child Health.
Caroline was also praised by the judges for her tireless commitment and enthusiasm in mentoring hundreds of trainees during her career.
Speaking of her win, Dr Fertleman, said: “It is a real honour to be awarded the President’s Medal from the Academy of Medical Educators. Education and training is a huge part of any doctor’s career and it is wonderful to be recognised for helping to train and support the next generation of clinicians.
“Treating young patients and supporting their families can be daunting for new doctors and trainees and I hope that our training and resources will give them the knowledge and confidence to deliver the best possible care.”
