Advanced Clinical Practitioners
ACPs within Whittington Health work in many different departments across many different sites including the emergency department where they support clinical service provision.
ACPs come from a range of AHP backgrounds and are educated to Master’s level. They have developed the skills and knowledge to allow them to take on expanded roles and scope of practice, caring for patients.
ACPs are deployed across all healthcare settings and work at a level of advanced clinical practice that pulls together the four pillars of ACP:
- clinical practice
- leadership and management
- education
- research
They demonstrate the knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes (behaviours) to meet the requirements of the Multi-Professional Framework of Advanced Clinical Practice introduced by Health Education England in 2017.
As you take on more professional responsibility, the role can be challenging and rewarding. As an ACP, you can be involved in research, teaching and other non-clinical roles.
