Podiatrists

There are currently 23 staff in podiatry covering Islington and Haringey that work from 12 sites. We have five workforce hubs, each with a Band 7 hub lead, plus Bands 6 and 5 that are community based and Band 3 assistants and technicians. The flow of information works brilliantly, thanks to the hub set-up and there is always peer-to-peer and leadership support and advice available to you.

Whittington Health is lucky enough to have its own bio-mechanic laboratory that makes prescribed orthotics and staff can visit the lab in Holloway, which gives a new dimension to our professional development.

 

Our podiatrists work with many others in a multi-disciplinary way, and we develop joint pathways for care, organise rotations and encourage staff to take on audits and QI projects.

 

You’ll have the chance to contribute to small group education sessions that help reduce referrals or the escalation of minor problems.

We organise staff away-days and hub lead meetings fortnightly. This is a place where people are encouraged to come forward with ideas or questions. Students and the newly qualified will find lots of support and chance to progress.
