Physiotherapists

We have Musculoskeletal (MSK) Clinical Assessment teams and secondary pain management teams that help assess, diagnose, and manage conditions. We have dedicated paediatric MSK team members who serve the children and young people in our community as part of the Islington Additional Needs and Disability Service. 

 

Our MSK physios work across seven sites including Bounds Green Health Centre, Finsbury Health Centre, and Whittington Hospital. We also have inpatient physios who work alongside our OTs in integrated teams to ensure the safe and effective treatment and discharge of patients during and following a hospital admission. Within this team there are orthopaedic, elderly care and infant, children, and young people teams. The inpatient physios also manage a select number of outpatient appointments.

Our physios close links with consultants in radiology, orthopaedics, rheumatology, and pain services mean we operate in a truly multidisciplinary way.

 

We are active in seven MSK sites in health centres across two boroughs and one in the hospital. We also work with the orthopaedic hub at UCLH.

 

The Trust and our Integrated Care System visibly support physiotherapists and the contribution we make.

 

From the outset, Band 5s experience working internally and externally and we have a Band 5 support group for those rotating around the integrated care system. Leadership is visible at all our sites and there are regular meet-ups to gather ideas and feedback. You are encouraged to progress and undertake Fellowships or leadership and clinical courses. All teams drive clinical excellence and support each other. There’s an open culture and everyone’s opinion matters. Our Preceptorship programme gives all staff a comprehensive induction to ease you into your transition from student to registered professional. Clinical supervision is strong and supervision sessions happen regularly. There’s plenty of opportunity for flexible working.
