Paediatric Primary Care Nurses

The Paediatric Primary Care (PPC) service launched in 2014 with the primary aim of managing common long term conditions within primary care. The service primarily accepts referrals from Islington GPs and Health Visitors. The team of specialist community children’s nurses, review children and young people for wheeze, asthma, eczema and constipation in the London borough of Islington (LBI). The team treat children and young people aged between 3 months to 18 years in clinics based at local GP premises and health centres.

 

In July 2018, the team implemented a 48hr telephone triage service for children and young people who have attended the Accident and Emergency department with wheeze or asthma.
