Thursday 12 May was National Nurses’ Day and to celebrate and raise awareness of the range of roles nurses have, Deborah Wheeler, the director of nursing, set the challenge to members of the trust board to shadow nurses in various parts of the hospital.

Several of them took up the challenge including chief executive David Sloman, chair Narendra Makanji and three non-executive directors including Pat Gordon who spent the afternoon in the emergency department.
