Biography

Dr Giles Armstrong qualified in 1997 after training at the University of Cambridge and the Royal London Hospital. He trained in paediatrics in the North-East of England and then the North Thames region.

He specialised in paediatric emergency medicine, including a year working at the Childrenís Hospital at Westmead in Sydney, Australia.

He has been working at The Whittington Hospital since 2010.

Dr Armstrong is the chair of the North East London and Essex Trauma Network paediatric group, sits on the NHS England (London) Paediatric HDU group, and co-chairs the HDU standards sub-group. He is the RCPCH representative on the paediatric chapter sub-group of the General Provision of Anaesthetic Services (GPAS) guideline for the Royal College of Anaesthetists.

Dr Armstrong is a RCPCH assessor for the START assessments. He also examines medical students for UCL as well as teaching undergraduates on the Whittington campus.

Special Interests

Dr Armstrong is the lead for the Children's Emergency Department and the Children's Ambulatory Unit.
