The Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery Service offers treatment for -

Oesophageal motility disorders e.g achalasia - Laparoscopic Heller's Cardiomyotomy
Swallowing difficulty (dysphagia)
Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease - Laparoscopic Nissen's Fundoplication
Gallbladder disease - Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy
Obesity (bariatric surgery) - Laparoscopic Gastric Band, Laparoscopic Roux-en-Y Bypass, Sleeve Gastrectomy and Duodenal Switch
Enlarged spleen - Laparoscopic Splenectomy
Endoscopy - diagnostic and therapeutic

Many operations are performed as Day Case Surgery in suitable patients.
