Bronchoscopy
A bronchoscopy is an examination of the trachea (windpipe) and the bronchi (branches of the airways) leading down into the lungs. During the procedure, a long flexible thin tube with a bright light on the end is passed through the nose and down through the throat, windpipe and airways. This allows the doctor to look down the tube at the different parts of the windpipe and lungs.
