The Care Quality Commission (CQC) will host a patient stall at our hospital in the foyer of the Magdala Avenue entrance on Tuesday 5 and Wednesday 6 September from 10am to 4pm, and in Holloway Health Centre, Hornsey Street on Wednesday 6 September from 10am to 4pm.
The patient stalls are an opportunity for patients and carers to share their views and their experiences of our services and care with the CQC. This is part of the CQC’s routine regulatory inspection process and builds on our previous inspection in 2015 where we were rated ‘GOOD’ overall for our services and outstanding for care.
There will also be opportunities for staff to feedback to the CQC on Thursday 7th September both in the hospital and at Holloway Health Centre. ‘Drop-in’ staff sessions will run from 10am to 4pm in WEC, Room 2, and from 4 to 4.30 at Holloway Health Centre. In addition, there are specific sessions for different professional groups which staff have been nominated to attend, speak to your manager for details.
Also this week we have the next Board meeting on 6 September 2pm to 5pm in the Whittington Education Centre.
On the same day from 6pm the Trust’s Annual General Meeting will be held in the same location. Please come along and hear Simon’s report on the Trust and mine on the Forum. There will also be plenty of time for questions and discussion with all those who attend.
Then later this month
We have the Whittington Health Open Day on 16 September from 10am to 4pm at the main hospital site on Magdala Avenue.
At the end of the month is our next Forum meeting on 28 September 2pm to 3:30pm in the N19 meeting room, Level 1, Magdala Avenue.
Next Chief Executive
You will all have been surprised that it has taken this long before I have been able to publicly announce the appointment of Whittington Health's next Chief Executive.
We have been constrained by Department of Health and Treasury procedures. For any uncertainty this may have caused I can only apologise.
I am now finally able to issue this statement. At the end of Friday 15th September Simon Pleydell leaves Whittington Health and Siobhan Harrington becomes our Chief Executive.
It was clear from the excellent participation of colleagues, partners, some patients and the community forum as well as the final interview panel that this decision was well supported and unanimous.
I, the rest of the Board and, I am sure, all of you are looking forward to working with Siobhan in her new role building on the foundations we have all worked so hard on during Simon's time at the Whittington. I am really pleased at Siobhan's appointment.
