Our antenatal diabetes clinic runs every Monday morning at The Whittington Hospital.

It is run by a multidisciplinary team led by our obstetric and diabetes consultants. The team includes midwives, a diabetes specialist nurse and a dietitian, who are all specialists in antenatal diabetes care. We endeavour to offer an individualised plan of care to you depending on your clinical needs.

Midwife clinics

Diabetes clinics run by our diabetes specialist midwife and high risk midwife are held Monday to Friday at The Whittington Hospital.

Group sessions for planning your pregnancy

One of the most important things for women with diabetes is to plan their pregnancies and have good blood glucose control before becoming pregnant.

We run group sessions four times a year for women and their partners with type 1 and type 2 diabetes, to discuss and prepare for pregnancy. Individual pre-pregnancy appointments are also available on Mondays for women with pre-existing diabetes.

Referrals

We want to see you as early as possible when you are pregnant so the quickest way to refer yourself to our clinic is by phoning our lead midwife in diabetes Julie Logue or high risk midwife Jill Davies on 020 7288 3531 or by emailing j.logue@nhs.net.
