Hand or elbow pain

MSK - Medical Advice - Hand or elbow pain - Top Image
The most common problem is from strains and sprains to soft tissues. This can be from overuse of the muscles and tendons in your hands and elbow.

Resting your joints and muscles for too long can be unhelpful as it leads to stiffness and may result in further symptoms.

Often these problems can be resolved with simple treatments and self-help techniques that can be done at home without having to visit your doctor. If your arm has suddenly started hurting and you don’t know why, try treating it with ice and over-the-counter painkillers.

Further advice is in our leaflets shown on this page.

If you feel you need further help, please contact us directly or ask your GP to refer you to our physiotherapy service.
