Biography

James Malone-Lee qualified from St. Thomas' Hospital, London in 1975. Having served with the Royal Army Medical Corps until 1981 he joined University College London as a lecturer in geriatric medicine under Professor Norman Exton-Smith. He became Senior Lecturer in 1984 under Professor Malcolm Hodkinson. He was promoted to a personal chair in 1994 moving to the Barlow Chair of Geriatric Medicine in 1996. In 1999, with the formation of the new Royal Free and University College Medical School, he moved to the Whittington hospital campus. His research work has focused on the pharmacology, biomechanics and physiology of urinary incontinence. From 2001 to 2003he wasMedical Director forMedicine atthe Whittington Hospital NHS Trust and is currently Director of Research and Development.
